L’Occitane

Named for the ancient Occitania which stretched across the south of France from east to west, L'Occitane was started by Olivier Baussan in 1976. This was where women and nature played leading roles in society. Baussan created the line using nature, research, and the history of Occitania to tell the story of the ingredients and their beneficial qualities. Paying homage to natural ingredients which include shea, honey, grape, and the legends behind them, L’Occitane products are quite unique. Popular products in this line include the Shea Butter Hand Cream and Honey and Lemon Soap Tower. Throughout the years L’Occitane has maintained a socially responsible attitude with their product line. Their products are eco-certified organic and they do not test on animals. In 1997 they decided to launch Braille labeling on their product packaging and they also support three charitable causes that are very important to the company. The L’Occitane brand offers quality, decadence, and natural benefits in their line. They have boutiques worldwide and are also available at Sephora and other beauty apothecaries.
