Ascot time is looming, as are regattas galore and wedding season but really we don’t need an excuse to wear something fabulous on our heads. If you haven’t heard of milliner Jane Taylor then get your pens at the ready.
A favourite with the A-list and the Royals, Jane has an enviable little black book of clients who vie for personal appointments at her studio in Fulham. An alumni from Manchester University where she studied embroidery, Jane quickly became the go-to person for stunning hats, fascinators and headbands when she set up shop after training with the Queen’s milliner Marie O’Regan and designer Bruce Oldfield.
Inspired by antique prints, taxidermy and couture, her studio is an array of feathers, fabrics, embellishments and treasures as well as her many pieces which are all hand-made upstairs – as well as her dog Lupin who greets guests at the door before falling asleep in an elegant chaise.
Whether you want something elegant and simple (her 1920s and 1030s tiaras are amazing) or extravagant cocktail hats or art deco headpieces, this is the place to head for. A treasure trove of delights, we recommend you get an appointment to get your bespoke creation designed in time for the summer season.
