PFW A/W 12-13: Giambattista Valli

By  March 05, 2012

Giambattista Valli kept it demure chic in black and white with bursts of rust and red at today’s Fall 2012 show. Knitwear took on a new vibrancy for daywear and mimicked pebbly prints splashed across chiffon dresses cinched with gold metallic belts. Silhouettes in the dresses were a touch exaggerated, shoulders thrown back and waists ultra-cinched to create an extreme hourglass figure. The same cut was repeated across black and cherry red coats, surefire hits with Valli’s A-list clientele.

Luxe and glamour ran high, with gold metallic crocodile tailored coats and sheer drop waist silver and black gowns boasting fluttering feathered fox skirts. The odd geometric look of vertically proportioned layer spiced up the otherwise monochromatic palette and a selection of high-necked, flowing chiffon gowns brought the collection to a close.
