PFW S/S11: Celine

By  October 04, 2010

One of the most anticipated shows at Paris Fashion Week, Phoebe Philo’s Celine show is always a hot ticket. For Spring, all the usual Celine staples were there; the tailored trousers, the coat, leather vests but also created some amazing basics – silk vests and denim – that we are already coveting.

The colour palette of the Celine show was full of ivory's and whites covering the staple pieces

A colour palette of white, ivory, interspersed with cobalt blue and brown leather, tunics, and all the items one would want for a summer wardrobe. Even the eveningwear was a relaxed affair, with a deep V-neck front and back.

There will be some who miss the urbanity of Philo’s first two collections, but this show qualifies as a well-considered success in its own right. It at once expanded the world of Celine (all the way to the rock festival) and confirmed Philo’s mastery of the codes of her hugely influential brand.
