PFW Haute Couture S/S12: Elie Saab

By  January 26, 2012

If little girls dream of becoming a princess then Elie Saab has made dreams come true (for those with unlimited budgets that is!) Sending an array of pretty pastels down the Parisian runway, the self-taught designer fulfilled childhood fantasies with floor-skimming gowns, ornate detailing and an abundance of fabric.

And what better a time to showcase such a fairytale than with the Oscars next month? You can almost imagine the thousands of teeny tiny crystals delicately applied to the collection lighting up the red carpet, to a flurry of flash bulbs.

But for those looking to wow in less princess-inspired frocks, structured suits and shorter hemlines were also present.

Already a past favourite with the celeb crowd- Saab’s designs are never far from a long-limbed actress or two – so there’s little doubt that we will be seeing more of this collection.
