The editors, celebs and f-row pack showed little sign of tiredness on day 6 of New York Fashion Week, or if they did this was soon dismissed as J. Crew, Vera Wang, Diesel Black Gold, Hervé Léger by Max Azria and Tory Burch catapulted the catwalks into spring/summer 2012.
Jenna Lyon’s presentation at J. Crew kept to brand- Hampton strips, clean lines, collarless jackets- all paired with tailored shorts of course. Pops of red and pink gave styles life but there was no avoiding the J. Crew DNA that is seen season after season. But why change a winning formula? Style.com reports an editor was coveting the brand in the f-row, surely the biggest sign that this mainstream brand is here to stay on the fashion radar
Diesel Black Gold sprinkled SS12 with glitter, glitter and yes you’ve got it more glitter. Working the drama of metallics with taupe and capes, blazers and casual jackets, the up-market street brand struck gold, quite literally. But the hero look? A black asymmetrical open-side dress paired with a gold mini- sleek, chic but definitely interesting.
Continuing the glitz, Hervé Léger by Max Azria threaded designs with rose gold, yellow gold and Neptune ice taking the iconic bandage dress to the next level. New detailing and neck collars added a unique touch but it was the killer boots that made the statement.
