NYFW S/S11: Diane Von Furstenberg

By  September 17, 2010

The DVF show always pulls in a stellar front row and, this season, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rachel Bilson, Molly Sims and Poppy Delevigne were a few of them. While it was hard to tell if the crowd was more interested in SJP than the show, this soon stopped as the music began.

After Nathen Jenden’s departure from Diane von Furstenberg’s side, the new wing man is French designer Yvan Mispelaere so there was a genuine interest in the new direction the collection could take. With stints at Gucci and Chloe, he comes highly recommended.

While there was no huge departure from the signature DVF look, the Goddess collection had bigger prints, more colour, draping – and fabulous tailoring, inspired by Isadora Duncan and an exhibit in Paris they had attended together.

All hail the powerful woman as a more polished DVF look is coming in for spring/summer 2011. A fabulous navy trousersuit, beautiful lemons and sky blue blouses and a draped white kaftan makes, once again, for the perfect summer wardrobe for the fabulous city girl.
