NYFW A/W 12-13: DKNY

By  February 16, 2012
DKNY once again showed to the backdrop of a New York cab screaming the collection's roots

She's young, sharp and on a mission. She's the DKNY gal from AW12!

DKNY AW12 was a sea of black with splashes and dashes of colour! Unveiled within a warehouse setting, the DKNY cab was once again present at the end of runway, acting as a backdrop to the collection and beacon for the collection’s home: New York.

Choosing to step away from the fun time closet, next season sees the DKNY girl dabble with a more formal look, donning tapered front creased slacks, turtle neck skinny knit sweaters, and leather portfolios.

The show opened with a drop sleeve shearling overcoat with collar straps done up, over a turtle neck knitted dress with an obi style belt that looked like an over oversized leather collar, with opaque tights – all black! Other styles include wool coats with leather sleeves, wine fur jacket teamed with red alligator belt and skirt, and a grey round neck over coat with 3/4 fur sleeves.

Stand-out piece from the collection included a full on floral suit with a pussy bow blouse of the same print teamed with concealed peep toe platforms. Also the 80s style monochrome cheetah jumper, so bad it’s good. Most covetable pieces included the leather portfolio: A black leather bowling bag and alligator sleeve wool jacket.
