NY Fashion Week: Matthew Williamson

With fabulous front row fans including Eva Longoria and Joy Bryant watching adoringly, models strutted down the Matthew Williamson catwalk at Bryant Park today in a nothing less than covetable collection.

Love it or hate it, citrus-coloured furs had a firm place in the collection, beautifully blended amidst soft leathers, metal jacquard, beaded wool and satin. Opening with an Ombre wool coat that boasted Aztec-influenced colours (a recurring theme), the collection swung from muted tones to brilliant turquoise seen in the form of a stunning sequined opera jacket slung on top of a dainty silk vest and vibrant blue leather trousers. Williamson’s signature prints were dotted throughout in kaleidoscopic, brightly coloured designs.

Fur stoles completed informal but sexy belted jackets and trousers, while ruffled floral skirts and printed kimono dresses were also thrown in the mix, appealing to fans of Matthew Williamson’s more feminine designs.
