MFW S/S12: Missoni

By  September 26, 2011

The show notes said “Sunrise Birds” at Missoni for the spring/summer 12 show, so we were expecting bright colour and a fun loving girl who will party until the early hours. A high-society bohemian, the Missoni look was all frills and flamenco accents, burnt yellows and oranges to allude to the morning sun while bright blues was the other end of the spectrum.

Shoes were adorned with plastic flowers (a trend that has not gone unnoticed) while the swimwear was avant-garde and made more for posing than any real activity. But, for all the frills and ruffles, they were cleverly constructed and flattering. It was a collection for the girl who wants to stay out all night and still look good, with clever layering, scarves and all the trimmings for going from a summer’s night to morning with ease.
