MFW S/S12: Dolce & Gabbana

By  September 26, 2011

The 1950s made a reappearance at the Dolce & Gabbana show but not a Mad Men theme, more Southern Italy in the summer complete with acid brights, oversize prints of tomatos and hot peppers, all the delicious treats you might enjoy there.

“Mambo Italiano” blared out from the Metropole venue while models sauntered down the runway wearing prom dresses, lace in the shape of flowers, the cropped tops we are coming to accept are a must-buy for spring and high waisted shorts and skirts; each look teamed with accessories with pasta shapes and garlic clove themes.

The eveningwear was less whimsical, more sexy cocktail dresses. A darker colour palette for evening, the myriad of black dresses shimmered with crystal embellishments, bustiers with jewel colour crystals and different hemlines to suit all shapes. Sexy and fun is always a winning combination and the Dolce & Gabbana girls will be having an abundance of it next spring.
