MFW S/S12: Bally

By  September 26, 2011

Yes ladies, sportswear will be chic for spring! Bally takes the sporty theme and romanticises it for the new season with petal-strewn fabrics, air-soft leather in a dreamy palette of meadow green, glacier blue and gentian yellow.

Inspired by Bally’s 160-year-old heritage and images of a debutante in lace ,creative directors Michael Herz and Graeme Fidler has designed a “couture luxe” approach for a new collection that comprises knee-length coats, simple A-line dresses crafted from hand-embroidered lace and embellishments like leather panels on cotton tees.

Nature plays a key role in the collection; natural fabrics like soft nappa leather, swiss cotton poplin and mercerised cotton and silk lace as well as motifs of leaves and petals.

It was the three-dimensional print effect using emboirdery and appliqué to create leather swirls and sequin-embroidered tulle to create a landscape effect was was truly mesmerising.
