NYFW A/W10: Max Azria

By  February 17, 2010

It was back to basics at Max Azria‘s mainline. His demure collection of nude silk separates, flowing chiffon black evening columns with sheer peek-a-boo panels and battalions of ultra-skinny black leather trousers a la The Row are bound to be go to classic staples for his A-list clientele (AnnaLyne McCord, in her seemingly endless tour of NYFW’s front row made yet another appearance, pecking dear old Max on the cheek after the show, was seated next to the lovely Estelle).

He also brought a bit of HervĂ© Leger to the main tent, as cut out and textured bandages in stony greys and aggressive blacks countered the softness of the first half of the show’s flowing silks. Perhaps not the most imaginative collection of Mr. Azria’s long career, but certainly amongst the most recession-retail-friendly.
