LFW S/S12: Roksanda Ilincic

By  September 20, 2011

If there’s one word to summarise Roksanda Ilincic for spring/summer 2012 then it can only be beautiful. Showing within the majestic surroundings of The Institute of Directors this morning, Roksanda hit success from the first look to the last not to mention with the elite crowd too- Anna Wintour on the F row.

Taking inspiration from 1960s couture, shapes echoed this era but with a modern and grungy twist.

There was an air of impeccable dressing however the accentuated sleeves would have been at home adorning Marie Antoinette.

Colours within the collection flowed from white chocolate to mustard to turquoise to fluro popping pink. The latter is sure to grace many an editor’s wardrobe next season as will the monochrome checks-the bomber is a daytime essential.

Knitted beanies added a kooky touch which were ‘a last minute addition to the collection’, said the guest in the seat next to us, and what an addition they were.

But it was the magic of jewel coloured satin that has left us yearning for spring.
