Always one to share his penchant for vivid colours, Matthew Williamson once again filled the London Fashion Week AW/11 runways with a collection of brights that even the most tropical species would be envious of. Opting to clash textures and materials this season, the Central Saint Martins graduate proved his fashion worth and if not a bit more.
Inspiration for the collection seems to have come from mixed sources yet this only seemed to enhance the individual looks and the collection as a whole. But it was one of the first looks that left an imprint on the Glam mind and a key styling point for next season- carpet knits worn over leather. Layering may not be new but this was a refreshing change from the floaty, chiffon designs that the designers name has come to be associated with.
