LFW A/W11: Christopher Kane

By  February 21, 2011

Always one of the most anticipated shows during London Fashion Week, Christopher Kane has once again failed to disappoint with his aquamarine collection for autumn/winter 2011. Leaving behind the fluro brights of spring/summer 11, the Christopher Kane girl has gone under water, emerging drenched in shimmering metallics, scales and marine life to boast.

Dresses with sheer panels flashed milky-white flesh without being overtly raucous yet the killer heels sexed-up the looks to a level that was confident yet chic.

Kane’s use of blanket knits flows with others of the season and induced a yearning for winter dressing in a matchy-matchy way. Never before, have we longed for twin-sets in such a way as we did today, once again depicting Kane’s talent at placing new meanings on fashions that have previously been associated with tired England.

One can assume Christopher Kane is involved in his own fashion game, reworking and reshaping trends as he goes, giving a glimpse of such with each new collection. The clue for autumn/winter? Look in your Grandmother’s closet.
