Alternative rock band Elbow put on an unforgettable performance last Friday (7th September 2012) as part of the iTunes Festival…
The crowd (including Glam) could not be more delighted to see front man (Guy Garvey) last week. Taking to the roundhouse stage, Garvey and the rest of the band blasted out their famed hits, including ‘Puncture Repair’,’ Lippy Kids’, ‘Weather to Fly’ and ‘One Day Like This’ last week.
Drawing in a mixed crowd – hard core fans mixed with a new generation of rock lovers – the Mercury Prize winning band, known for their melancholy rock lullabies proved they are more than standing the test of time. Garvey’s vocals powerful and enigmatic voice boomed from wall-to-wall, (only lowering when Garvey stopped to deliver a mini history lesson on Camden’s famed venue), with the crowd singing along.
But let us not forget the supporting act Bat For Lashes. Warming-up the stage, lead songstress Natasha Khan delivered an energetic performance. Looking and sounding like a mix between Lilly Allen, Ellie Goulding and Florence Welch, Kahn still manages to command the stage with her own brand of folktronica (we just Googled it too!)
Both artists are set to release new material in the upcoming months, with Elbow bringing out ‘Dead In The Boot’ and Bat For Lashes releasing ‘The Haunted Man’. So if you like your rock or folktronica, then be sure to add these to to your itunes playlist.
