Christian Dior has confirmed reports that British designer John Galliano has been suspended from his post as creative director. Following an incident in the French capital last night, Galliano was said to be in custody after an alleged incident of assault and making offensive comments to a couple dining at a café.

Chief executive if Dior, Sidney Toledano commented:

“Dior affirms with the utmost conviction its policy of zero tolerance towards any anti-Semitic or racist words or behaviour,”

With only days until Galliano’s latest collection for Dior was due to be unveiled at Paris Fashion Week, the drama is sure to have impacted the luxury design house.
