If you really want to be ahead of the fashion pack next year, make sure your wardrobe includes the likes of Christopher Raeburn; J.JS Lee; Marques’Almeida; Nasir Mazhar; Sophia Webster; Sister by Sibling, and Lucas Nascimento – all have just been revealed as the BFC NEWGEN winners autumn/winter 2013.
Announced earlier on today, each of the 14 emerging designers has received sponsorship, supported by Topshop, to present their designs at London Fashion Week in February 2013.
Sarah Mower MBE, BFC Ambassador for Emerging Talent and Chair of the NEWGEN selection committee commented:
“The NEWGEN bar is set so high: to qualify, designers must prove their originality, excellence and openness to learning how to take first steps in businesses. This season’s winners are a snapshot of what London is now – a varied group of vivid individualists, from many countries. They’re a brilliant reflection of the energy of a city which enables so many talents to settle and shine.”
Also receiving sponsorship are J.W. Anderson and Simone Rocha, who will show their designs during catwalk shows, and 1205; Liam Fahy; Maarten van der Horst; Palmer//Harding, and Huishan Zhang who will exhibit during fashion week.
Not that we’re wishing away Christmas, but 2013 is looking to be an exciting year.
