Swapping the British meadows of this season for far-off lands, the Ashish gal is off on an adventure for autumn/winter 2012. Tracked-down in India, she’s spotted embracing foreign cultures with style chains draping from ear to nose, charms dangling from nails and gold thread shimmering from her high side-ponytail. The latter was the creation of Ali Pirzadeh for L’Oréal Professionnel.
“We wanted to pick the collection up in the hair so we chose gold thread to do this” Pirzadeh told us backstage. Alternating between left and right ponytails (depending on what suited each model), the hair team gathered the hair high on the head, secured with elastic and then tonged the lengths to add a messy feel. Oil was then glossed over random pieces to play with textures before the gold thread was added in.
As for makeup, Georgina Graham for MAC created a luxe-look inspired by “Talitha Getty meets the Olsen Twins,” she told us pre-show. Working with the latest products: MAC Beauty Balm (layered under foundation to create a nineties perfect finish base) and MAC Sculpting Cream in Pure Sculpture, Graham balanced a matte base with contours and highlights. A brushed up brown, very Natalia Vodianova , and a nude lip finished the look.
Shellac tips were given an Indian revamp
Gold threaded side-ponytails accesosorised the collection
A short colour wash of MAC Eye Shadow in Cork was applied over the eyes to create the look
