The Worst-Dressed Celebs At Coachella 2024 Week 1

The 2024 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has hosted its first set of performances, with artists such as Lana Del Rey, No Doubt, and T-Pain taking to the stage between April 12 and April 14 in Indio, California. The Coachella Music Festival has inspired countless fashion trends over the years, as people from around the globe converge in the desert to express a shared love for fashion, music, and good vibes.

That said, not all A-list attendees go down in Coachella history for the right reasons. Following the first weekend of performances, many celebrity festival-goers have earned top spots on Glam's worst-dressed list. Of all the influencers and A-list celebs to join the ranks, a handful of artists were especially deserving of their new titles due to underwhelming festival 'fits or outrageously disjointed ensembles. Some fans believe Coachella veteran and boho-chic queen Vanessa Hudgens' failure to appear for the second time in a row signaled an omen for the decline in Coachella-worthy outfits. While we cannot say for certain whether the Queen of Coachella's consecutive absence plays a part in this festival superstition, the following festival 'fits were far from impressive.

Doja Cat

At the top of the list sits rapper Doja Cat, who, incidentally, was also featured as one of our worst-dressed celebs at the 2024 Grammy Awards. The rapper stunned the crowds yesterday with six radical outfits, including a full hazmat get-up, and a bodysuit in trending butter yellow. The hazmat suit may have been a radical fashion choice, but it felt out of place at the Coachella Music Festival. Her sci-fi-inspired bodysuit — which perhaps pays tribute to Zendaya's Dune: Part Two look — also fell short, resembling a low-budget "Power Rangers" costume more than show-stopping festival attire. Overall, her outfits left much to be desired.

Gwen Stefani

In a nostalgic blast from the past, vocalist Gwen Stefani graced the stage this weekend in a classic '90s-era No Doubt look. The "Don't Speak" singer walked out in a shredded plaid ensemble with fishnet, cut-out details, and bold red lips. Stefani fans everywhere were tripping over themselves to catch a glimpse of the '90s icon. The millennial nostalgia was strong indeed to distract from the questionable plaid bolero jacket and buckle-strap bottoms.

Xin Lu

Coachella featured an impressive lineup of Asian artists this year, including Chinese singer Xin Lu — the first female Chinese artist to perform at the festival. As exciting as it was to host the singer at Coachella, her tinsel-adorned two-piece ensemble was difficult to behold. The singer appeared to drown in what resembled colorful Christmas garland, which falls under the entirely wrong theme of festivities for this early in the year.

Amber Rose

Amber Rose certainly stood out from the crowd during her festival visit, where she donned a scarlet-and-white floral jumpsuit. The rapper and singer also wore a neon-green jumpsuit, during the Neon Carnival dance party; however, she managed to pull off the green outfit as she paired it with a faux fur coat for a groovy '70s throwback look. The red outfit, on the other hand, didn't quite land due to the blinding shade of red and stark white. Combined with the matching handbag and baseball cap, it creates an unpleasant contrast to the point where one feels the need to squint to tolerate direct contact.

Kesha

Denim, crop tops, and cowboy boots are quintessential Coachella pieces, and this is precisely what Kesha wore when she joined Renee Rapp on stage. Compared to the other disastrous outfits to make the list, Kesha's country couture outfit was far from offensive. In fact, it was so unoffensive that it was an outright bore. Kesha's performance hit high on the entertainment scale, but her festival 'fit was a veritable snooze-fest. We expect better from the beloved "Tik Tok" singer and hope she steps up her festival fashion game for her next Coachella appearance.
